What is Chat Eh?

chateh.ca is an XMPP (Jabber) server based in Canada. It offers secure messaging via open standards, and supports modern features like OMEMO encryption, voice/video, and group chat.

Getting Started

1. Request an Invite

This server is invite-only. Contact an existing user or email admin@chateh.ca for access.

2. Register

Once you have an invite, use the web or mobile client to create an account using your token.

3. Choose a Client

We recommend Conversations (Android) or Monal (iOS). For desktop, try Gajim.

For Android, free versions of clients can be obtained using f-droid, or you can support the open-source projects by buying the apps on the Google Play store.

4. Login & Chat

Your username will be in the form you@chateh.ca. Log in and join group chats or message contacts directly.
